Adjunct Associate Professor Todd Hutchison
Our Lead Investigator

Dr Todd Hutchison is a Western Australian Police licensed and qualified private investigator. He is a digital forensics specialist in multimedia associated with Forensics Australia where he provides video, digital image and audio digital forensic expertise.
He is adjunct Associate Professor at Edith Cowan University in Business and Law, and teaches business law in an MBA program, and a commercial adviser and trainer for commercial law firm Balfour Meagher and a
Todd has master degrees in both information systems and technology management, and completed the first bachelor degree in legal project management worldwide. His PhD studies are in behavioural sciences applied in business, and has completed his doctorate in forensics and legal project management. He continues his studies for a Bachelor of Laws.
He also resides as the Global Chair of the International Institute of Legal Project Management.
Todd also trains police, military, corrective services, crime corruption, investigators and lawyers.
He has qualifications in commerce, information systems, criminal psychology and profiling, investigation, legal project management and forensics.
His digital forensics background comes from being tertiary qualified in both television and radio broadcasting, as well as camera operations, audio operations, photography and music. His experience includes working in commercial television, film and running photographic studios and the Film My Video production house.
He has worked in covert operations in helicopters, broadcasts vans and vehicles. He has worked in police and military related roles, including winning a world championship (grade 2) as part of the WA Police Pipe Band, and as a Pilot Officer with the Air Training Corps.
He is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, a professional member of the World Association of Professional Investigators, WA Arms and Armour Society; and the Australian Information Security Association. He is also a Fellow of Leadership WA, Australian Institute of Project Management, Project Management Institute and the Australian Institute of Project Management.
Todd is a police-licensed investigator, security officer, crowd controller and scurity monitoring officer. His forensic work extends to criminal cases, including homicide investigations.
